Human and systemic development strategy

Throughout the social projects that Raízes designs and executes, we work with human development, which is the training of people beyond just technical skills. This happens in the stages of “training and inspiration” – as we call it. We consider it extremely relevant that, in addition to professional skills training, people who have their own businesses and others involved are exposed to psychosocial aptitudes such as dealing with uncertainties, for example.

This need is enhanced further by the entrepreneurial profile of our clients, comprising the majority of those impacted by the actions of our social business. In addition, we work in collaboration – since most of our projects create and/or strengthen networks, associations and cooperatives. Therefore, developing and dealing with human abilities is essential in order to understand that we are within a system at all times.

The systemic view entails that each person has a role and occupies a place in that project and in that business. This understanding of roles, and of destinations serving as a space for things to develop in the best possible way is one of the main factors contributing towards our projects being successful in the long run. Through that particular lens aimed at the people and their individual needs, and the way in which we highlight the importance of each person asserting themselves and supporting one other is how we make things happen.

And that is where what we call Systemic Development comes into the picture.

Each person should be considered in all aspects

When starting an action in a territory, in addition to the professional side, we also observe the conditions of the participants in terms of health, education and family contexts. We understand that in order to attain success in our projects, each person  involved must be considered in all aspects. This is the cross-cutting step to the whole project we call  “Systemic Development”, which considers that a person’s life is interrelated with their projects and dreams, as well as  interdependent on other people who share them.

And why should that be of our concern?

Because it substantially contributes to the quality of life of these people. As the months go on, we find that often the very course of actions taken in our projects contributes towards improvements in the mental health of those involved.

We have received many reports on the decrease in the use of antidepressants,  more motivation for the aspects that involve the project and for life in general, among others. A qualitative assessment that for us has immense value.

This is a part of our human and systemic development strategy (which we talk about in more detail here).

As a methodology, once the initial stages of mapping and defining the strategies, as well as those who will benefit from the project are concluded, we deploy deep listening techniques, occasionally also involving group constellations and other methods, combined with collaborative development.

To this end, we have a multidisciplinary team of managers and consultants and are ready to work in any territory. Take the chance and learn more about what we do.
