To pause, breathe, reflect, and co-create. Moments of immersion here at Raízes are crucial to promoting connection and cohesion within our team. This practice offers a number of benefits that can improve overall performance and work dynamics, as well as promote well-being and relieve stress.
That’s why we try to hold this meeting with our permanent staff every year, so that we can be close and think about strategies for the coming months. Our latest edition of this great meeting took place at Sítio Sertãozinho, a cozy and peaceful place in the municipality of Moeda in Minas Gerais, from February 5 to 8.
We worked on team alignment, indicators, persona definition, and people management. But in addition to the meetings, we had moments of more personal exchange, with walks in contact with nature around the site, sunbathing, pool time, and dinners with the team.
On Thursday night, we also spent a night in Belo Horizonte and were able to enjoy one of the region’s traditional blocos, Chama o Síndico, and meet up with friends and partners who were there.
The importance of these moments
A recent study by economists from the University of Warwick, one of the UK’s leading institutions, found that happiness led to a 12% increase in productivity, while dissatisfied workers were 10% less productive. The research states that more satisfied and motivated teams generally perform better. Therefore, providing moments of relaxation and leisure can contribute to emotional well-being.
Raízes is committed to decent work for all. Recently, to further improve the well-being and satisfaction of our team, we also rolled out the 4-day week as a work schedule.
We believe that immersion activities strengthen the sense of belonging to a team. Therefore, these moments are not just a pleasant break from the routine, but a valuable strategy for strengthening team cohesion, improving collaboration, and boosting overall performance.
More than surveys can tell you, we feel in our own skin how good it is to be with people we admire, share ideas and ideals with, dedicate our work to, and thus go further!
