While carrying out various Raízes projects, we launched a program called “Entre elas,” which basically consists of meetings and/or workshops led by women for women, always focusing on topics relevant to women’s lives. The goal is to inspire women and empower them to achieve greater autonomy in managing their businesses and other aspects of their lives.
Some examples of projects in which this program was implemented include the initiatives “Flores do Carmo”, “Sabores do Morro”, “Bordadeiras de Ipoema” and “Barão de Cocais”, among others.
One example of an activity in this program is the “Self-Esteem and Beauty” workshop, where we invite a makeup artist to lead a mini-course on simple makeup tips for the participants. This way, while they are being trained as entrepreneurs by our core team, they also learn to take care of themselves and love themselves a little more with the help of our other partners.
We also cover health and nutrition; we address Dona do Meu Fluxo when women belong to vulnerable groups; and we explore topics such as personal finance, self-awareness, and resilient behavior.
In line with the UN’s SDG 5 on gender equity, the Entre Elas program is a way to intentionally and systematically incorporate a layer of training that supports women’s development by paving the way for equality and dignity.
