The Salão Nacional do Turismo is one of the most important events for the tourism sector in Brazil, bringing together professionals, entrepreneurs, destinations and tourism enthusiasts every year to promote and discuss market trends and innovations. This year, the 8th edition of the event started today, August 8, and runs until August 11, at Riocentro, located in Rio de Janeiro’s Barra Olímpica.
Raízes has a stand in the Responsible Tourism area in Pavilion 4. Come and visit us!
Did you know about the National Tourism Fair?
The Salão do Turismo was designed to bring together, in a single space, various actions and activities related to tourism, such as the marketing of packages, the exhibition of destinations, and the promotion of tourism products and services. Since its creation, it has played a key role in consolidating this economic activity as strategic for the country.
The first meeting was held in 2005, an initiative of the Ministry of Tourism with the aim of promoting Brazilian destinations and strengthening Brazil’s image as a powerhouse. It was not held for 12 years. By 2023, the last edition had taken place in 2011. According to the event’s website, this was due to a number of factors: political and economic changes, the priorities of the government at the time and the Ministry of Tourism itself.
But to our satisfaction, since we work with the sector, the fair returned in full force last year, reaching its 7th edition in December. The main thing was to present the full potential of the segment after the Covid-19 pandemic. This year’s theme is “Experiences from Brazil: responsible and inclusive tourism driving sustainable development“.
We’re here!
Raízes Desenvolvimento Sustentável, as well as having a stand at the event for the first time, will be presenting the research “Where does Private Social Investment (PSI) meet tourism?”.The study is an initiative of Raízes 360, a partnership between Raízes Desenvolvimento Sustentável and Turismo 360 Consultoria, with academic collaboration from the Tourism and Sustainability Studies Laboratory at the University of Brasilia (UNB). We also have the partnership of Turismo Spot and the institutional support of the Grupo Boticário Foundation, the consultancy Aponte and the Group of Institutes, Foundations and Companies (GIFE), as well as sponsorship for participation in events by the Bancorbrás Institute.
We’ll be talking about PRIVATE SOCIAL INVESTMENT AND TOURISM on Friday, August 9, at 3:40 p.m. in the Knowledge Center – Room 1.
The Salão do Turismo is a reflection of the potential and diversity of Brazilian tourism as an engine of economic, cultural and social development for Brazil. We’re happy to be at this edition and contribute our knowledge, meet and see loved ones and promising businesses!
