Up-to-date management plans are essential for the effective management of conservation areas, especially if they are open to the public and visitors.
Raízes collaborated with the Greentec team on the development or review of seven management plans for various conservation areas in Espírito Santo, always focusing on public use and visitation. These were:

  • Pedra Azul State Park

  • Mata das Flores State Park

  • Forno Grande State Park

  • Cachoeira da Fumaça State Park

  • Serra das Torres Natural Monument

  • Pedra do Elefante Environmental Protection Area

  • Vale do Mulembá Municipal Park.

The company’s collaboration includes a preliminary review of secondary data, meetings with the team of experts from Greentec and IEMA, a field visit to survey the conservation areas, internal attractions, and the buffer zone or surrounding area, interviews with key stakeholders in the tourism sector (on-site and virtual), and participation in public consultation meetings, including activities to develop impact maps and define priority conservation objectives.
As a result, the new Management Plans have been submitted to IEMA and are being published as they are presented to local stakeholders and approved.
