Owner of my flow
Dona do Meu Fluxo is a non-profit project created in 2017 by a partnership between two B-companies founded by women: Raízes and Korui.
Korui is a 100% Brazilian brand that was created to give access to sustainable menstrual products to women who couldn’t afford them. That’s why the commitment when launching the sale of menstrual cups was 10×1: for every 10 cups sold, one would be donated. Luísa, Korui’s founder, turned to Raízes, which has expertise in working with communities and womxn, so that donations could be made efficiently and meaningfully.
The project aims to empower women and combat menstrual poverty. Raízes and Korui believe that owning your own menstrual flow is the first step towards more and more women being able to own the flow of their lives. With this in mind, the project donates menstrual cups through workshops in which, as well as presenting the cup, topics related to the female body, aesthetic standards, self-esteem, sorority, and women’s support networks are also discussed. Menstrual cups are greener options for the planet and for menstruating people, they represent savings, freedom, and practicality during the menstrual period, as well as a healthier option and closer contact with their own body and cycle.
Over the years, the project has visited more than 40 communities in all regions of Brazil and distributed more than 3,000 collectors.
You can support the project in various ways. Visit the project’s website and find out more!
