Korui Ciclos de Vida
Raízes and Korui, B Certified Companies led by women, created a partnership in 2017 to reduce menstrual poverty in Brazil: the Dona do Meu Fluxo project.
The project consists of workshops with women in situations of social vulnerability or with little access to information about female health, sustainable choices, sorority, and support networks, among other topics covered in the meetings.
During the discussions, menstrual cups are presented (and donated) as a solution that allows women more comfort and freedom (up to 12 hours without emptying), savings (up to 10 years without investing scarce resources in other solutions), less waste (around 2,400 plastic pads saved with each cup used) and a new relationship with the body and their menstrual cycle. For all these advantages, we affectionately call this process of joining the cup “the cup revolution”.
Dona do Meu Fluxo is a project that has already reached more than 6,000 women and won the WTM 2023 Gold Award for using Voluntourism as a tool to make the project viable. Korui and Raízes are joining forces to make this voluntary project happen, which is so important for the empowerment of girls, women, and menstruating people.
