During its 3 years, the Popular Centre of Culture and Development (PCCD) has developed a unique educational project for kids and teenagers of diverse Brazilian and foreign communities. The creativity and will to change the productive system made this Institute propose another view on the way to teach and learn, valorising cooperation, inclusion, local culture and features. The idea here is to mix new technologies with traditional knowledge in order to find solutions that can potentiate the best that the community can produce, changing positively the life of the place and the people.

This is a collective process which generates labour, income and autonomy, and it also consolidates the importance of the local culture, popular education and solutions regarding agroecology. It is, indeed, an Integrated Platform of Local Development Solutions that inspires people and professionals that see the results of the projects in Araçuaí - Vale do Jequitinhonha/ MG.

As a result of the project, a lot of teachers and parents visited the location, and this new movement of tourism caused the creation of a local Social Residence, which also motivated another unit of the Fabriqueta (little factory of tourim).

Therefore, the Factory Dedo de Gente Tourism Factory developed by PCCD and Raízes Sustainable Development started because of the creation of a new example of business that is innovative in services for the cooperative Dedo de Gente.

The new factory has as its objective the community based tourism and was developed because of the other project of PCCD with the youth from Araçuaí.

The “Business Incubators” are the places where PCCD acts as a supporter of the new unit of the Cooperative. The idea is to make the Fabriqueta more independent and always guided by ideals of sustainability and innovation of services.
